Baccarat, is a casino game in New Zealand, that despite the several strands its main objective is to get a hand as close as possible to 9.

Two hands are distributed on the baccarat, for the players and for the bench. The goal is to correctly bet which hand has the highest value from 0 to 9 or tie.

Unlike many card games, the cards do not have the normal value, for example in many games the Ace is the highest card with the highest score in baccarat the Ace is worth 1, while the 10, king, jack and queen are worth 0. The rest of the cards have the value shown in their number.

How to play Baccarat?

When the value is greater than 10, you will have to remove the extra digit. For example, two 8 make up the total of 16: so and according to what you need, you will take the 10 and stick with the 6.

To start the game, the player bets on both the player and the bank, a draw in the player and bank or a combination of three. After that the dealer will distribute the cards to the players and two cards to the bank. The two cards decide whether a third card is needed.

For players

• If the player has a total of 8 or 9 on this hand, it will be given as a natural and no more cards will be dealt
• If the total of the players is 5 or less, a third card will be given
• If the player does not receive the third card and the bank has 6 or more, the bank wins
• If the player receives the third card, there are new rules for the bank.

To the bank, if the total is:

• 7 – the bank wins
• 3 and the player’s third card was not 8 …
• 4 and the player’s third card was not 0.1.8 …
• 5 and the player’s third card was 4,5,6 or 7 …
• 6 and the player’s third card was 6 or 7 … … then the bank draws a third card.
• If the total is 7 then the hand wins.

The player wins if he bets on a high hand or bets on a draw and the total is equivalent to the total of the bank. If you bet on the player or bench and the result is a draw, it is left for the next round.

What is Baccarat ?

As we mentioned before, Baccarat is a card game with a slightly fast end.  There are many people that compare this game to blackjack, however they are played in a totally different way. The game gained popularity after it was first brought to France during the 15th century. It is said that it came from Italy and as soon it was taught to the french monarchy it turned into the card game favorite.

The difference between baccarat and blackjack is mainly this one. In Blackjack you have to play against the dealer to hit the closer 21 (twenty one), or the closest to it. In the opposite way, in Baccarat the player have to bet on the had with closest number to 9 (nine). Whether its the dealer hand or the player hand. With this being said, its obvious that this Italian game have a similar origin as twenty one.

To finalize, Baccarat is an European game, even tho is way more popular in Asia than in Europe itself. It became hugely popular at French Riviera casinos and it’s popularity also originated many different versions of the same game. Nowadays, many of the players prefer the version entitled “Chemin de Fer” which originated in the United Kingdom. During the 1950’s Baccarat was also first played at the world famous “Dunes Casino” in Las Vegas, Nevada. This game gained huge popularity with High Roller players specially because of it’s high winning odds.

What are the Baccarat rules?

A typical baccarat match is played between the casino player (the gambler) and the dealer (the casino employee itself). The main goal of the game is to predict which of the players will get the hand with closer points to 9 (nine).  Baccarat is also played with 6 (six) full decks of cards. Those cards are usually stored by the dealer in a deck.

To play the game, the gambler needs to place its bet on the Bank hand (“banker”), on its own hand (“player”), or in a null game (“tie”). Then the dealer distributes two cards to obtain the amount of points. With this total, the banker then gives one more card to the banker, the player or both. Finally the dealer sums the points of the hands in game, and the player with the points closer to 9 (nine) wins the match.

If you bet on the player and his hand is the winners hand, you win the amount you bet. Imagine, if you bet 10, you will win 20 (your initial ten plus more ten, doubles the money!). If you bet on the banker and his hand is the winner, you win the amount you bet minus a 5% commission. If you bet on null and with reason, you win 8 times the amount you bet, exactly like if you are playing on numbers in roulette!

Now we are going to explain you the values of the cards. Cards from 2 to 9, the exact same value of the numbers written on each card; Ace one point; K, J, Q, 10 have the value of zero points.
