China to Ban Online Casinos to recover from Covid Losses

Latest news report that china will ban more online casinos and also create a blacklist of countries where chinese residents cannot travel.

The reason for this is that China is losing around 150 Billion dollars just in gambling, claim news report. The ban will take effect after the country lost most of its Macao’s revenue due to covid 19.

The new restrictions aim to “better regulate tourism market and save the propriety of Chinese citizens”.

Liao Jinrong, from the Chinese Ministry of Public Safety claim that casinos in the Philipines, Myanmar and neighbor countries have been attracting Chinese gamblers in an unsafe way this last years. He also states that this gambling activities are related to organized crime, fraud, kidnapping and illegal immigration.

The Ministry of Public Safety also stated that more than 600 chinese gamblers were arrested this last year due to the circumstances claimed above. He adds “China has really strong laws about casinos and online casinos. This attracts chinese players to the nearby countries”-

China, who is also know for blocking many websites including Facebook and Youtube is taking action to ban all of the main online casinos that operate with worldwide licenses. The ones who can play them have to use a VPN service to bypass the Great Firewall of China.

By the other side, Macao, the only legalized Gambling zone in China, claims that hey have lost close to 40 billion dollars this year so far, due to the lack of tourists caused by the pandemic that the world is facing.
